Bringing Together Businesswomen of Diverse Occupations

The mission of ABWA is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.

The Lakeland Downtown Chapter was chartered July 30, 1996. Chartered with 44 women, today the chapter has more than 130 members, the largest membership among ABWA chapters. Our members are involved in achieving their career goals through continuing education and networking. Members also raise funds for scholarships to help others have the opportunity to earn college degrees, retrain for the workplace, or take continuing education courses. Our chapter supports community organizations that improve our quality of life right here in our own community.

Our vision statement for 2016 – 2017 is: “As we blaze our trails in ABWA, WE IGNITE OUR DREAMS and shine our light to foster personal and professional growth creating sparks of inspiration for others to carry the torch for generations to come.”
